Jill Hasler

Jill Hasler
Board Champion for Staff

Jill has worked in social housing for over 30 years in a variety of roles with housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs. She has been a trainer and consultant since 1990 developing a particular interest in sheltered housing and housing for older people generally. As Jill has always enjoyed the challenge of working in new roles or with developing organisations she is keen to contribute to the work of Enfield Homes, harnessing the experience and skills of all those involved to meet the challenges ahead. Jill lives in a neighbouring borough and now plans to extend her knowledge of Enfield to inform her contribution to the Boards’ work.

Nick Powell

Nick Powell
Nick Powell is Head of Housing Strategy, Development & Partnerships at Haringey Council, with responsibility for strategic issues including housing strategy and partnerships, housing enabling and the client function for Homes for Haringey. Before joining Haringey, Nick was Policy Leader at the National Housing Federation, with responsibility for finance policy issues and the financial inclusion project. He also led the Federation’s response to the Barker Review of Housing Supply, planning policy for housing, planning gain supplement and grant to developers. Nick was previously Investment Strategy Manager for the Guinness Trust Group leading on strategy for new development.

Mabel Dankwa

Mabel Dankwa
Mabel has over 12 years Local Authority experience working for Redbridge Council in various capacities, 7 of which have been with housing services. She is also responsible for and enjoys working with and supporting social housing tenants to make them economically active. Prior to Redbridge, Mabel worked at Tower Hamlets NHS as a Business Manager leading on staff development and training, student nurse placement and overseeing the budget of the Unit. Mabel has also worked as a volunteer, supporting mental health and learning disability clients and a Lay Assessor inspecting children’s residential homes.

Patrick Odling-Smee

Patrick Odling-Smee
Patrick has over 25 years experience of working in housing. He has held a variety of roles in a number of local authorities in north London and Hertfordshire and spent a short time as Chief Executive of a housing association. He has been the Service Director of Housing for Islington Council since 2008 where he is responsible for housing strategy and new developments; housing needs & homelessness; private sector housing and the clienting of the ALMO - Homes for Islington. Patrick is a Fellow of the CIH, and holds a degree in Urban Geography, an MBA and a PG Dip. in Coaching and Mentoring. He was previously on the board of Ascham Homes.

Helen George

Helen George
Helen currently works a Housing Policy and Strategy Manager at Hertsmere Borough Council in Hertfordshire. In 2009/2010 she was employed as Housing Adviser at the Improvement and Development Agency (now Local Government Improvement and Development), part of the Local Government Association Group. She has worked as Research Manager at Habinteg Housing Association, and as Housing Strategy Manager at the local authorities in Solihull, Cannock Chase, and Nuneaton and Bedworth. She has also been employed as a Policy Officer at the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Helen works periodically as a writer for the Chartered Institute of Housing and has published a guide for housing students on how to carry out housing research. She has also produced brochures on the need for housing investment in the former coal mining areas of Staffordshire and Warwickshire, and on methods of tackling youth homelessness in the East of England. She also serves as an Independent Board Member for Harden Housing Association, which is part of the WM Housing Group in the West Midlands.

George Georgiou

George Georgiou
George is Head of Performance and Business Improvement for the Repairs Service at Homes for Haringey and has 25 years experience of working in the housing field. He has extensive experience in Housing Management as well as Income Collection and is a strong believer in working in partnership with residents to achieve successful outcomes. George has a special interest in the delivery of responsive repairs to residents’ homes and to communal areas. He previously lived in Enfield for 15 years and is passionate in providing excellent services to residents and in improving the quality of homes and the environment.
