About us
Partnerships
Introduction
We work with many organisations, agencies and individuals, especially our customers, to provide quality homes, excellent services and successful communities.
As well as having residents on our management board, we have worked hard to ensure residents are involved in all aspects of our work, by:
- introducing local area panels, a new way for residents to examine what we do, and for us to consult them
- developing a residents’ training programme, in partnership with customers, to ensure residents have the necessary skills and knowledge to become involved in our work
- regular meetings with our black and minority ethnic groups
- providing a forum for a residents with disabilities and carers
- providing a sheltered housing tenants forum.
The Federation of Enfield Community (FECA)
FECA assist us to improve the way we provide our service, but also manage community halls, from booking enquiries and lets, to repair and maintenance recommendations. Use of our community halls has increased by about 40% and as a result our income from them has increased by 66% to £40,000 in 2009/10.
Police
Our estate managers work with safer neighbourhood and estate teams to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in our community.
They do the following work:
- timely, fast-tracked reporting of incidents
- request police attendance at anti-social behaviour hotspots
- design estate improvements with recommendations from the crime-prevention officer
- attend meetings of the Community Action Partnership for Enfield (CAPE)
- attend meetings of Safer Action For Enfield (SAFE), which enables the Police to collect information from different agencies.
Registered social landlords
Working with other housing providers allows us to use a co-ordinated approach to reaching common housing and community goals. Recently the housing partners have joined with the Police to help fund a youth engagement panel (YEP) aimed at training young people to give advice and help to other Enfield young people and give partners feedback about the community services young people need.
Working to promote good health
We have recently become members of the Health Improvement Board and are working with other organisations and agencies to find new ways of promoting healthy living in our communities. We managed to get grant funding to work in the Snells Park area to provide activities promoting healthy eating and living, as part of the Well London initiative.
