How the Enfield Homes site is accessible
Introduction
Web accessibility refers to making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities.
The following explains how the Enfield homes website is being developed to address the needs of individuals with the following:
Visual
This site has been coded with semantically meaningful HTML. Textual equivalents have been provided for images (these are also called ALT tags). Links have also been named meaningfully to help blind users using text-to-speech software and/or text-to-Braille hardware.
Motor or Mobility
Motor or mobility needs refers to difficulty or inability to use the hands, including tremors, muscle slowness, loss of fine muscle control, etc., due to conditions such as Parkinson's disease, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, stroke, etc.
The clickable links in the main menu at the top have been made large to help such users. They can be made even larger by using the A+ button of the text resize buttons located at the top right-hand corner of each page.
