Anti-social behaviour
Hate crime
Hate crime is a criminal offence that the victim or any other person believes is motivated by prejudice or hate. Hate crime can be motivated by an offender’s hatred of someone’s race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality or national origins, religion, sex, sexuality or disability.
To report an incident of hate crime, you should initially contact your Anti-Social Behaviour team on freephone 0800 40 80 160 or email asb@enfieldhomes.org.
If a hate crime is reported to us we will respond immediately when possible, and certainly within 24 hours.
If the victim believes there is an immediate or short-term risk of violent attack, we will tell the Anti-Social Behaviour Officer so that they can consider support options. Where we can, we aim to keep tenants in their own homes while we try to solve anti-social behaviour problems.
We will contact the victim within 24 hours of receiving the complaint and arrange to interview them as soon as possible.
We will agree an action plan with the victim for gathering evidence. We will maintain contact with the victim throughout.
Once supporting evidence has been gathered, the Anti-Social Behaviour Officer will discuss the findings with the Housing Manager and agree suitable follow-up action.
We will agree with the victim any proposed action before it is taken.
