After the work is completed

Once work has been completed to your home and accepted as finished by our Clerk of Works, we will contact you to make sure that you are satisfied with the completed work and there are no outstanding issues. Please note the contractor will remain responsible for repair works for a period of time after the work has been completed. This is called the ‘defects liability period’, which usually lasts for a period of 12 months. While any problems should be picked up by the Clerk of Works, some repairs will only become apparent over time. If you have any problems with the work once completed, again please contact our Enfield Homes RLO (details will be in your information pack).

If the contractor has finished the work and is no longer working on your block, estate or in your area, then please contact the Repairs4You Centre on freephone 0800 40 80 160. Our Customer Services Officers will be able to assist you and arrange for the appropriate inspection or repair to be carried out.

At the end of the defects liability period we will contact you again to make sure that you are happy with the completed work. We may want to inspect the completed work again at this time, and the contractor may be asked to do some more work to your home.

Usually, if you have a repair need such as a kitchen cupboard door does not open or close properly, this will be rectified promptly. Sometimes, we may want to wait a while to allow for seasonal movement and drying out to complete, before we come back and finish off the work. Don’t worry, we will let you know what is being proposed.
