Gas safety
Your tenancy agreement states that you must allow our employees, representatives and contractors to come into your property to service any gas supplies that we are responsible for maintaining. We service all Enfield Council supplied gas appliances every year and will leave a certificate with you confirming that they are safe and in good working order.
Gas appliances that are not working correctly can produce poisonous and deadly fumes. Your help is essential in making sure we can carry out our legal duty in completing a gas safety inspection and help to keep you and your family safe. You must give our gas engineers access to your home to carry out the annual service. This applies to all properties where gas can be used. Even if no gas appliances are connected or the only gas appliances in your home belong to you, we still need to check the gas supply pipework. We will take firm action against anyone who does not cooperate and allow access for this work. You should arrange to have any gas appliances that you are responsible for regularly tested. This includes cookers as well as heating appliances.
Contact the repairs4you centre if you:
- think the Enfield Council supplied gas appliances in your home have not been serviced
- do not have a certificate confirming that they have been serviced in the past 12 months.
