Put Enfield Homes on your Tesco shopping list

Enfield Homes is delighted to announce they are working in partnership with Tesco to make it easier for customers to access their services.

This unique initiative taken by Enfield Homes, to have a regular presence within the Tesco Potters Bar store, is a great example of a public service provider taking extra steps to be easier to reach for their customers.

The location of the supermarket is ideal, as the main office in Edmonton Green is quite a long journey for some customers. Having a stand at Tesco Potters Bar offers a much more convenient alternative for visiting Enfield Homes.

The service launched in December, and has already proven popular with many Enfield Homes’ customers that live in the Potters Bar area. It is available on the 9th of every month, from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Last week’s session was a great success! Monika Singh, Head of Customer Access for Enfield Homes said “We are very pleased to have been able to fit our services around what works best for our customers, and delighted that Tesco have worked with us so supportively to achieve this.

"Our customers have welcomed this new and unusual service point – located right on their doorstep, in their local store, and they really appreciated that Tesco made a room available for more confidential matters. They felt it couldn’t have been easier to reach us that day, and even better to combine it with a spot of shopping!"

Speaking on the partnership, James Wiggam, Corporate Affairs Manager for Tesco said “We are extremely pleased to be able to provide the Potters Bar store as an outreach point for Enfield Homes and its customers. We recognise that our stores, including Potters Bar, act as a focal point for the communities they serve. We are always pleased to be able to support local services.

"We know that many Enfield Homes customers also use our store. We welcome the opportunity to make their contact with Enfield Homes that little bit easier."

The events mark a commitment by Enfield Homes to work more closely with the private sector in delivering creative and modern service options. Offering services where customers go, makes good sense in today’s busy world.

Get your priorities right this christmas

This week Enfield Homes issued a caution to its tenants and leaseholders to make sure that they continue to pay their rent over the festive season.

“There is always the temptation to spend more money than you have over Christmas…” said Chief Executive of Enfield Homes Bob Heapy, “..especially for those on low incomes. But nothing is more important than paying your rent.”

There are a number of ways that you can pay your rent. These include ‘PayZone’ outlets which use a barcode reader, any Post Office where you can pay in cash, Enfield Council’s Civic Centre, the housing reception in Edmonton, online at www.enfieldhomes.org or by calling 0800 40 80 160 or 020 8379 1000 (24 hours a day).

Bob continued “It’s also very important that if you fall behind with your rent, or are unable to pay, that you contact us straight away, don’t just ignore it.

“We can arrange for a flexible repayment scheme to help you pay back what you owe, or get a Welfare Benefits Advisor to see if you can claim any help towards your rent.

“Christmas is a time for celebration; we don’t want people worrying about their rent. So if you have any problems, give us a call, we want to help.”
