Bulky books ditched for convenient cards

During May all Enfield Homes tenants will have received new rent payment cards. These new handy sized plastic cards will replace the current more bulky paper rent books, and provide more convenient opportunities to pay their rent. Tenants can still pay using the paper rent books, but these are soon to be phased out.

The new rent payment card contains bar code details of rent account numbers, and although similar in size, the card is NOT a debit or credit card.

In addition to being accepted at Post Offices (who will also accept cheques) and the Enfield Council Civic Centre cash office, the cards also allow tenants to pay rent at Payzone outlets with barcode readers, using a cash or debit card. Following each transaction a receipt is issued for tenants to retain as proof of rent payment. There is no charge for using this service.

Payzone outlets are available across the country and include newsagents, convenience stores, petrol stations and many more handy locations.

“Also, through the greater opening hours of Payzone outlets, you can pay your rent at times which are more convenient to you, like early morning or late at night.”
