Enfield Homes one of elite as 100% of gas servicing achieved

For the first time ever, Enfield Homes has achieved an astonishing 100% performance in ensuring that all gas appliances in the borough’s housing stock have been thoroughly tested.

All of their mechanical contractors have followed the lead of Purdy Contractors who achieved a 100% coverage rate earlier this year, and have also smashed the 100% barrier. Kinetics (TA Horn) and Oakray have now also gas appliance tested every gas appliance in their area.

Brendan Wells, Director of Technical and Property Services for Enfield Homes said “This is a landmark, we do not know of any other ALMO who has achieved this 100% performance. This has led to us being approached by other ALMO’s who have asked us how we have achieved this best practice, so that they can follow suit.

“All of our mechanical contractors deserve special acknowledgement for the first class service that they provide to our tenants.

“This performance on gas servicing places Enfield in an elite group – being amongst the top performers in the country. This outcome is the result of excellent partnership working between Enfield Homes Technical Staff and our three mechanical contractors.”

Top tenants scoop prize in rent incentive draw

Enfield Homes' tenants Lionel and Mary Avril were top prize winners this week, when they received a £250 cheque from Chief Executive Bob Heapy and a gorgeous basket of fruit.

Litsa Worrall, Chair of Enfield Homes said: “It’s good to be able to reward our tenants who keep their rent up to date in this way.

“It’s also a great way of encouraging payment, and thanking those who pay promptly."

“I am really looking forward to awarding prizes to more worthy winners in the future.”

The 2nd prize winner was a Miss Mesut who received £150, and the 3rd prize winner was Ms Ahmed who received £100.

Enfield Homes ensure top marks for gas servicing

Purdy Contracts, one of the contractors who work for Enfield Homes, has gained the outstanding achievement of being the first contractor to achieve 100% performance of servicing gas appliances. Purdy contracts cover the Edmonton contract area.

This is very much a milestone, and something that other contractor partners are striving to achieve. The overall performance across Enfield is 99.81%.

Brendan Wells, Director of Technical and Property Services said “This is an excellent result for Purdy Contracts. We anticipate this will be an incentive to the other contractors who will attempt to reach this same standard of excellence.

“As well as being a legal duty to service our gas equipment, it is extremely important that we make sure that all gas appliances within properties are safe and working properly, for example gas fires and boilers.

“To have achieved 100% of servicing for their area is outstanding.”
