Moving to another Enfield Council property

Enfield Council manages the Housing Register for tenants looking for somewhere else to live. A points system is used to work out who needs housing the most. You may be eligible for a transfer to another home if:

  • you or someone in your household is suffering from a very serious illness that is made worse by your current home
  • your home is badly overcrowded
  • you are living in a home that is too large for you.

There is a serious shortage of properties to let to people on the Housing Register. We do not have enough council or housing association properties for everybody who wants somewhere else to live.

If you would like to transfer to another council home, you will need to complete a Housing Assessment Form. The council will use this to work out how many points you are entitled to, and the priority you will be given. We are particularly keen to hear from you if you are under-occupying your home (your home has more rooms
than you need).

For more information or to ask for a copy of the form, visit the Enfield Council website or contact your tenancy manager. If you are a sheltered tenant, please contact your Sheltered Housing Officer for information on how to transfer to another property.

You can also get a clean and clear bonus of £200 if you are moving. Please contact your tenancy manager for more details.
